Hihi all,

Lets have some fun in the forum! How about some word and logic games?

I'll give you a question or problem, and the 1st person to answer correctly will win a prize. Then...I'll give another problem and the 1st correct answer wins again and so on...

Please remember to give me your IGN so that I can deliver your gift.

Here's your 1st problem:
If the Manchester Quartet can play Beethoven's 9th Symphony in 12 minutes, how quickly can the Birmingham Trio play it?

Good luck...1st correct answer wins. <333

12 minutes, if it requires only 3 people to play it. If it requires 4, then they can't play it at all.

12 mins is correct! The time taken to play should not rely on the number of players!

Very nice Anain....<333

Now, here's your next problem...good luck!

Can you find 13 animals in this rather curious poem:

A person, as simple we are.
Catch the kid o'er the bridge.
Follow the chief, oxtail soup we like.
Anagram ANPI gives us PAIN, cower under a ridge.

Snook wins! The answer is: Ape, a s s, ewe, cat, kid, doe, fox, ox, nag, man, pig, cow, ram
I'll contact you in game for your prize.

Okie...here's the next problem: A trout's tail weighs eight pounds. Its head weighs as much as the tail and one-half of the body combined, and the body weighs as much as the head and tail combined. What does the whole trout weigh?

1st correct answer wins <333

using algebra then...
T=tail, H=head, B=body
T=8,
H=T+B/2
B= H+T.

simplifying. H=8+B/2, B=H+8. so two variables, two equations.
B= (8+B/2)+ 8
B= B/2+16
2B=B+32
2B-B=B+32-B
B=32... alternatively u could solve the other equation to get H=24 then plug back in to the B equation to get body weight.

so... according to algebra and unless I'm missing something really simple that would make it a trick question... the answer should be 32 lbs as waterbaby said earlier.

although you could say that since the fish is never out of water, its weightless in the water... thus making it a trick question and making you a very evil lady for leading me on -.-.

unless its NOT a trick question but I'm missing a variable... since B does not equal W(whole trout). Therefore, W=B+T+H. and W= 2*B. so W=64... and I have spent way too much time on this question :|

Is it 64? The tail weighs 8lb, the head weighs 24lb, the body weighs 32lb.

Is it 64? The tail weighs 8lb, the head weighs 24lb, the body weighs 32lb.

64 is the correct answer.

The head weighs as much as the tail (8 lbs) + ? of the body combined = 24 pounds
The body weighs as much as the head + the tail = 32 pounds
And the tail weighs 8 pounds
8 + 16 = 24 (weight of head) 24 + 8 = 32 (weight of body)
Head (24 lbs) + body (32 lbs) + tail (8 lbs) = 64 lbs

Gratz!

Here's your next problem: Without using any reference material can you find the hidden countries. In each case, the letter indicates the first letter of the country in question; the number represents the number of letters in the country. For example, E7 would be England.

OMG...Snook is hot today! Are you planning to win all of them? lol

Tell me, how did you cheat?

Here's your next problem: What 5 letter word can be added to the end of these words to make new words:

green out light bird boat club cook

I think this one is too easy...lets see how fast you get the answer! Good luck!
