Hello, I am blakemoso, from Athena server.

Lots of people ask questions about the Magic-selling Carpfield NPC, and some don't even know who he is at all, so i've created a little guide.

This guide also includes a detailed list of each type of magic (which includes new ones just added in this latest patch), aswell as screen shots... so even those people who know all about carpfield can see what each magic looks like without buying them all! ^^ (ya, it was a little expensive to make this guide)

To start, one of the most frequently asked questions is, "Where is he located?"

Quite simply, he is north of monkey hot springs, and you can find him on your map by choosing the NPC filter.
(For those who are still lost, here's a picture)

Once you arrive at Carpfield, click on him, and a small menu will appear.

There is a dropdown menu which says "Property Selection", and from this you the four elements are listed. Each element currently has 2 types of magic... a Beginner type, and an Intermediate type.

Once you choose an element, the available magic types will be listed below. It shows the name of the magic type, whether it is beginner, or intermediate, the cost of that magic... both in marbles, and books.

To purchase a magic, you will need to have the listed amount of marbles in hand, as well as the proper amount of books.

It takes 5 BGN books for a beginner magic, and 3 INT books for an intermediate magic... it does not matter what kind of books you use, as long as you have 5 or 3 of the same type

Simply click on the magic you wish to purchase, and then move the books from your inventory, onto the slot in the bottom left corner of the window, and then press "Purchasing Items"! It's as simple as that! ^^

After you purchase a magic, carpfield will give you a blue book, which contains your magic. Simply right click on this book, and you will aquire that magic power.

Here is some information on the magic that you should know:
- You must have atleast 60 weapon tech to use the BGN magics, and atleast 65 to use the INT ones.
- You may only use one puchased magic at a time.
- Each of these magics will last for 12 days before they expire. (A number ontop of the magic's picture, in magic info will tell you how many days are remaining)
- If you wish to change magics, simply read another magic book, and it will replace your previously learned magic with the new one. (remember, you can only use one at a time)
- Press Ctrl+0 to equip your purchased magic.
- Press Alt+M to open the Magic Info Window.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask either on the forums, or in-game. Thanks ^^

And that is all for the guide, all thats left now is the pictures of each magic. Enjoy xD

From what i see on your screenshots the int magics are far weaker than the bgn ones (lower basic attack, lower attack by skill and higher organ dmage). They only cost less mp. Is that how it really is?

Btw. Thanks a lot for the guide

Yes, the intermediate magics do less damage, but they stick on the monsters providing a continual effect.

theyre virtually the same throughout all weapons. Caners probably do pretty good with these magics, because they will have more wis.

Who cares on the effects if the critters are dead in 1-2 hits anyway. Unless that magic works on boss.... :
Nice guide though, Blake.
